Privacy policy
In short: the app collects no personal data. All your data stays on your own device.
Who am I?
Garantiebewaarder is a personal hobby project by Jeroen Lamberts. It is not commercial. I am the data controller, although I don't process any of your data myself.
What the app doesn't do
- No account or login.
- No server of its own.
- No analytics and no tracking.
- No advertising.
- No third-party SDKs.
Where your data is stored
Everything you enter, such as products, receipts, photos and PDFs, is stored on your own device. I have no access to it.
Recognizing text on receipts
Text on a receipt is recognized locally on your device using Apple Vision. Nothing is sent to a server.
iCloud sync (optional)
You can choose to sync through your own private iCloud. This is off by default. If you turn it on, your data is stored in your iCloud account. I have no access to it.
Camera and notifications
- Camera: only used to photograph receipts and products.
- Notifications: only local reminders about warranty expiry. Completely optional, and you can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
When data leaves your device
Data only leaves your device when you do it yourself: when you share or export something (PDF, zip), or when you turn on iCloud sync.
Export and deletion
You can export and delete all your data yourself in the app, under Settings.
